# How does it works

> Understanding webhook communication in the platform

When your application endpoint is enabled on the platform to receive events, the platform will push real-time notifications to it. These notifications contain the type of event, the epoch timestamp of when it occurred, and any relevant data for that event. On your side you can then use that to integrate the platform with existing or new software.

## Webhook Flow

1. **Event occurs** - An action happens in the platform (task created, assigned, completed, etc.)
2. **Payload generated** - The platform creates a JSON payload with event details
3. **HTTP POST sent** - The payload is sent to your configured endpoint URL
4. **Your server responds** - Your application processes the data and returns HTTP 200
5. **Confirmation** - The platform marks the webhook as successfully delivered

## Setting Up Webhooks

To set up webhooks in the platform, follow [this documentation](/pages/automation/automation-event/on-routing-finished).
